Hi all,

Well, we've been quite busy. As some of you know we have been practicing new songs for our upcoming show. We had such a fun practice two weeks ago, the illustrious Sir Cloister Maximus III (CM3) thought it best if we record the new material while we are playing well. So, last weekend, we did just that.

Our initial plan was to record in our friend's the Brogans' basement. Due to the crazy snowy Icy weather we were not able to make that happen. CM3, languishing on our couch, looked around said, "Why don't we do it here, at Tuftee Headquarters?" Casey & I looked at each other and we decided to do it. We recorded the new record right here at Sleepyhouse NW.

First we cleared out the living room to make room for the drum kit, then we cleared the kitchen and set up my guitar & amp, then we set up Casey's bass in the spare room with the recording consule. We wired everything up and spent a good 10 hours saturday laying down the basic tracks for 11 songs. I planned on adding an acoustic tune on sunday.

Time just slipped away between us on our foggy trips...

Sunday came and we did all the overdubbing; drums, electric lead guitars, acoustic guitars, banjo, vocals & assorted shakers & fun noise makers. I invited Ross Beach to hang sunday to add his banjo grace to a couple of songs, as well as back up vocals for another. Our friend Elizabeth stopped by to borrow a camera and we pulled her into recording some back up vocals as well. Casey & I videotaped about 25 minutes worth of the making of... for a potential video for the first single.

CM3 was a master as usual as engineer as well as following his muse and recording every guitar sound, hand clap, talking toy, shaker, noises and hollers that came to mind. I feel like he & I were running with very similar ideas throughout the recording. If he started playing something, it was very often what I was trying to find in my head, and if I suggested something he was already putting that idea into motion. Plus, Casey sings throughout. She has some really lovely vocal textures and one lead vocal that will break your heart.

We are very excited and keep you posted on availability.

In the end we recorded 12 songs. Here is a list i no order.

1)Girl With Butterfly Wings 2)Tony 3) Your Name 4) Silentscape 5) the Theif 6) Mercury Rising 7) I am You 8) Pilgram 9) Portland Nights 10) Pornography 11) Better Nation 12)Untitled new song
