2003-12-17 - 2:49 p.m. hiya-casey tuftee here...between work, extra garden work, music, cleaning the house and other things, i have really neglected continuing my updates of the AGSFB Fall Tour...now i am not working full-time, i mailed the last of the xmas presents yesterday and have the day to myself, so for those of you who are still interested, here's more tour fun... Omaha, NB-good show, i finally felt comfortable on stage...we stayed w/kathy's frined roger, who is sweet and highly entertaining...we went thrifting w/him and his buddy mike, then left for des moines (not before temporarily losing my sleeping bag, my pillow, my towel, my cool new thrift store purchases and all of kim's toiletries out the back of the minivan...none of us had rememberd to check the back door-the kind that opens upwards-and had been driving around Omaha trying to find our way to the highway)...some very kind peops had retrieved our things out of the street and set them on the sidewalk for us to find (thank you thank you thank you)!! arriving in des moines, we got stuck in traffic 'cause the cross street was full of people walking from a festival??? (i can;t remember what it was) and the street we were on hadn't been blocked off for the event-we were one of about twenty cars waiting, not for the lights to change, but just for the flow of people to stop so we could continue on our way! once we were settled at the venue, i checked my email for the first time since leaving portland and received one from john that i knew was coming eventually but wasn't prepared for that night...our san fran friend, jennifer, had passed away (he had flown to sf that day and missed her by a few hours...see older entry titled 'jennifer corrine') it felt so weird to be so far away from home and from sf and all my friends there, then to receive the news and not be able to communicate w/any of them...that night, just before i played the drums for the first time on tour, i dedicated my performance to jennifer and thought with a smile how she might be the only person i know besides my dad and my stepmom to see me play on this tour...i felt like i played well but having the thought of her w/me helped... peace and love
