2003-10-10 - 11:45 a.m. Hi there. The Tuftees are in a bit of a new flow. We are currently trying out new drummers, which is a challenge. We are hoping to find someone who is interested not only in playing original music, but someone who wants to play out, tour and record. We love music and we love to make music. We will never stop regardless of having a drummer or not. There are so many alternative ways to make music. We will adapt and prosper. That said, we are very much interested in finding a new permanent drummer, so give us a holler if you live in Portland, OR and are interested in a power trio with a pop/punk edge. Seattle. We played Seattle on sunday with Ross & The Hellpets and Seattle locals, Vegas in Flames. I have tooted Ross' music before, so I'll tell you how great Vegas in Flames are. They are great. They are really terrific, down to earth people who make great rock music with a lush canopy of sound. I highly recommend checking them out and ordering their cd from them directly, so they make the bucks, yo! Chris Calvert of Mouse That Roared & Bronwyn fame (on tour now, check their website for details) sat in on the kit for this show. He was, as usual, spectacular. I'm not saying this was the Tuftees best show, but Chris threw in some hip hop here & there and just kept the set alive and fresh. It was really exciting to play with him again. Such an amazing guy to know, and one of the NW's best drummers. Thanks Chris. Casey is back from her stint with the All Girl Summer Fun Band. I am trying to get her to put up some of her diary highlights of her tour. She has returned a refreshed and smiley woman. I am really excited for her and am truly proud of her musical depth and growth. Watch for pictures here soon. Not much else to say. No shows until we have a drummer, which will hopefully be soon. Once we have a drummer, we will begin reheasals to record our new material. All is well. Oh, we are working on an ep which we shall shop around smaller labels. Peace, Jack
