2003-07-30 - 8:41 p.m. Things are going well for us these days. We are currently working on many new songs as well as some surprise covers. Casey's dream cover song is going to come true. I am not allowed to breathe a word of what it is, but I will say that it really rocks. We are also pumping some volume into a new cover, my favourite kind of cover, a song a friend wrote. We have been really good about keeping our rehearsals really loud, so both covers are going to be loud. In fact, I do beleive our whole set will be quite loud. Jason and Casey are seriously the happiest rhythm section at the moment. The smile on Jason's face last friday as we played the same song for an hour, getting it right, made him a very perky and sweaty drummer. Below is my current fave band pic. I think it really captures us both individually and as a trio.
We also got drunk and goofed with some mexican wrestling masks, here are 2 nameless tuftees in action!
Here is my favourite picture of casey with "Velma" glasses on. For some reason there happen to be a large number of women in Portland who go for the "Velma" look. Casey is not one of them, that's why I laugh at this picture.
I wanted to end this with a quote by one of the mos influential producers/engineers in modern music. It is from a stupid questionaire in Magnet Magazine about favourite power pop songs. "I cannot bring myself to use the term “power pop.” Catchy mock-descriptive terms are for dilettantes and journalists. I guess you could say I think this music is for pussies and should be stopped." -Steve Albini
