the Tuftees

Last night we played the Rosary Room in san diego and it was a blast. A quick recap. Chris "she's the hottest bartender i've ever seen" Calvert played the drums with us and we really rocked it out to the ocean. We had to follow the dropscience, who were a really loud, good, math rock-y band. Mouse opened, followed by minmae, dropscience and then us. How we ended up as the headliner is beyond us, but we did it with gusto, as some might say.

It was one of those moments where it was like, "how the hell are we going to follow this act?" moments. My reply to the band was, "lets just do what we do and do it well." I dont thinkanyone from mouse or minmae were expecting us to really let it out the way we did. I screamed a lot, used josh's tube pedal, and basically tore it up the best i could. Josh flew up on stage afterward and jumped me with a big bear hug. It felt really good and i think we are growing a lot as people and a band. Casey & I are really happy to have this opportunity to play with such really good musicians. These are really great warm and open friends who are all trying to have a good time. Plus we made 85$ for gas, I sold 2 more 7"s and a tee shirt, and we sold all the mouse (4) cd's. Fun times.

Minmae's set was electrufying as usual, and what with the Brooks family in tow, Sean really made his parents proud.

The Mouse set was pretty good, as usual it was better than we thought it was from the stage. I messed up Homecoming yet again, but played Scarecrow perfectly. I still beleive that if we ever practiced, we could really be a great band. People love the Mouse. Steve played a song we didnt know but we did it and it sounded chill.
